The estimator plays an important role within the company by being responsible for costing each of the projects entrusted to him.
Its mission is to evaluate the costs in the projects with regard to the estimation of the labor force, the materials necessary for the realization of high-end residential projects, the analysis of work methods and data. techniques. You will have to prepare the tenders by interpreting the plans and technical specifications. You will work with the sales team, project managers and all other stakeholders in the production and delivery of projects.
Main functions :
Prepare bids, interpret architectural plans and technical specifications
Perform quantity readings, estimate the labor and materials required for the completion of projectsAnalyze various work methods, characteristics of manufacturing materials, various technical data and financial data in order to submit a quote as close as possible to reality
Use the parameters defined in order to prepare the submissions and keep them up to date.
Establish the times required for installation and transport costs
Consult stakeholders and the production supervisor during the prefabrication phase on materials and production methods
Maintain a professional and trusting relationship with subcontractors and suppliers
Revise the contract ensuring that the technical details correspond to the planned submission
Validate, once the projects have been completed, the estimates with the actual cost
Requirements
Cabinetmaking training is desired or other relevant training
5 years or more of cabinetmaking experience in estimation, construction (an asset) or other relevant fields
French, English spoken and written
Ability to analyze and interpret plans and specifications
Have a global vision
Mastery of the Office Suite, more precisely Excel
Ability to work on several files simultaneously
Ability to work under tight deadlines
Excellent sense of organization and priorities
Attention to detail and thoroughness
